Educating Motorists

How do we educate motorists about the Move Over Law?

In most states, we have accomplished an initial and major hurdle…passing a Move Over Law.  Unfortunately, numerous lives were lost before we were able to even do that.  Sadly, more lives will be lost before it is over.  The initial hurdle of passing the law was for nothing unless we educate motorists about the Move Over Law.

Many people ask about statistics.  “Struck-bys” are the leading cause of death for law enforcement, emergency and fire personnel and tow truck operators combined.  Chances are if you are reading this you have your own statistics.  One is all you need.  One is too many.  Before it is too late, educate!

Additionally, make sure your personnel and their vehicles are visible!  There are many companies out there that provide higher visibility safety solutions.  Whether it be break-a-way safety vests or reflective gear, let’s keep them safe.  Let’s bring them home.

Educate before it is too late…The life you save may be your own!
